Yin Yoga Workshops 2010

Sunday, 08 August 2010

Most forms of Yoga practiced today emphasise muscular movement and contraction. By contrast Yin Yoga targets the connective tissue of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Yin postures are held three to five to ten minutes at a time. This type of practice complements the more muscular (Yang) styles of Yoga and echoes much of the classical Hatha yoga teachings which emphasise asana as a preparation for sitting in meditation. Yoga practised in this style is accessible to anybody with any level of experience. It should appeal to anyone who wishes to focus on the healthand mobility of their joints and in particular may benefit dancers, sports people and athletes who may wish to focus on joint mobility or who may experience joint issues. This workshop with experienced teacher of Hatha and Yin Yoga, Jude Murray, will explore various Yin sequences and some of the theory associated with practising yoga in this style. Jude had the pleasure of studying Yin Yoga with one of its leading exponents and teachers and renowned teacher of yoga, Paul Grilley.

  • Sunday 28th February 11 am – 4 pm. £30
  • Sunday 8th August 11 am – 4 pm. £30
